Google Chrome OS to Launch Next Week
According to TechCrunch, the first official version of Google's Chrome operating system is expected to be available for download within the next week. This first version will likely be promoted for just a handful of initial devices, but it's a step forward nonetheless.
As I've mentioned before, this coupled with the efforts around Android have got to be giving Microsoft and Apple some serious heartburn. They must have some comfort in the incredible momentum of the iPhone and the strong debut of Windows 7.
Regardless of how you think it will turn out, consumers are going to be big beneficiaries as all major players compete with each other and unleash a huge wave of innovation over the next couple of years.
